ALERT STAGE CRITERIA MEMBER ACTION LOGISTICS TEAM BUILDING & TECHNOLOGY  COMMUNICATIONS TEAM EOC TEAM
NORMAL Severe weather or known threat not expected in the next 7 days.  Check CERT kits and equipment every 30 days. Maintain rolling stock for readiness. Maintain the building in a ready condition for operations. Maintain all computers, websites, and social media channels in a ready condition. Maintain CERT mobile and portable radios in a ready condition. Maintain radios, computers, and software in a state of readiness.
STANDBY Severe weather or a known threat is expected within 48 to 72 hours.   Check the status of batteries, bottled water, and first-aid supplies in CERT kits.  Charge your electronics. Check all rolling stock equipment, start engines, generators, and power equipment. Check the building for weather readiness. Check that all technology is ready. Check portable radios for charge status and ensure all are operating. All parties check the equipment, software, and computers for operation.
PREALERT Severe weather (watch or warning) or known threat conditions are expected within the next 24 hours.   Prep for activation: gather ID badge, vest, helmet, rain gear, phone charger, CERT kit, etc. Prep all rolling stock for deployment.  Ensure all equipment is ready for service. Remove the flag and secure the lawn furniture and any loose outdoor items.  Prepare the meeting room for a briefing.

Make any last-minute updates and preparations for technology deployment.  Assist with messaging if requested.

Prep portable radio for possible deployment.  Gather extra batteries, microphones, antennas, and related equipment. Monitor radar and NWS chat.  Report to EOC when directed by OEM.

QUICK LOOK The condition requires an immediate situational awareness check. Follow the Quick Look instructions and note any reportable conditions as directed. N/A Assist with messaging efforts if requested. N/A Initiate Quick Look when requested.  Follow up with a briefing to OEM.
SPECIAL TEAMS The condition requires an immediate response from a smaller specialized group. The special team will receive specific instructions for staging and activation. Are you ready for any rolling stock or equipment needed for deployment? Are there any technology needs for teams? Are there any radio requirements needed for deployment? Coordinate with OEM.
FULL ACTIVATION An imminent severe weather event or other threat is occurring now. CERT teams are activated for emergency response.  Call 877-698-3261, enter your phone number, listen to the message, and then respond as directed.   Report to OG to assist with the deployment of all assets. Report as directed in the activation message.
Check OG for damage and operational readiness.
Stand up building as a resource if needed.

Report as directed in the activation message.  Assist in the use of technology for information gathering/reporting at staging and IC.
